1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, registering, accessing, or using LawBee ("App"), you unconditionally and irrevocably agree to this Privacy & Billing Policy and our Terms of Service in their entirety. If you do not agree with any provision contained herein, you must immediately cease using the App and delete your account. Your continued use of the App constitutes binding acceptance of all terms.

2. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including but not limited to:

• The Information Technology Act, 2000 (as amended)
• The Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011
• The Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021
• The Consumer Protection Act, 2019
• The Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020
• All other applicable laws and regulations of India

Any disputes arising from or relating to this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Maharashtra, India. You expressly waive any objections to such jurisdiction.

3. Definitions

• Personal Data: Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
• Sensitive Personal Data: As defined under the IT Rules, including passwords, financial information, health data, biometric information, etc.
• Virtual Currency/Diamonds: In-app consumable tokens or credits purchased via Google Play Billing or earned through ads, used to access premium features.
• Legal Content: Bare Acts, judgments, legal templates, and AI-generated drafts provided through the App.
• AI Features: Specialized legal AI tools trained on Indian legal system using OpenAI and DeepSeek technologies.

4. Information We Collect

We collect the following information in full compliance with Indian data protection laws:

• Registration Data: Full name, email address, phone number, and professional credentials (if provided).
• Technical Data: IP address, device identifiers, operating system, browser type, mobile network information, log files, analytics data, and app usage statistics.
• User Content: Comments, notes, draft documents, queries submitted to AI, and any other content you create or upload to the App.
• Media: Uploaded images, documents, and attachments (we automatically strip EXIF/GPS data for your privacy).
• Transaction Data: Records of diamond purchases, redemptions, and usage history (not including payment card details).
• Legal Research History: Search queries, viewed documents, and browsing patterns within the App.

Children's Data: The App is intended for use only by individuals who are at least 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18. If we discover that we have collected personal data from a person under 18, we will immediately delete such data. Parents or legal guardians who believe we may have collected personal data from a child under 18 should contact our Grievance Officer immediately.

5. Cookies & Tracking

• We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain secure login sessions, remember your preferences, and prevent fraudulent activity.
• All cookies expire automatically (1 day for post-edit ID, 2 days login, 1 year profile cookies).
• You can configure your device to reject cookies, but this may limit functionality.
• We implement first-party analytics to improve app performance and user experience.
• We do not use third-party tracking cookies for advertising purposes except for Google Rewards integration.

6. Virtual Currency (Diamonds), Payments & Refunds

LawBee implements a virtual currency system called "Diamonds" that can be purchased or earned:

• Purchase Methods:
  • Direct purchase through Google Play Billing
  • Earned through viewing Google Reward ads
• Purchase Process: You authorize Google Play to charge your selected payment method. We never process, store, or have access to your payment credentials directly.
• Virtual Currency Usage: Diamonds can be used to:
  • Access premium legal templates
  • Generate AI-powered legal drafts
  • Download digitally verified Bare Acts and judgments
  • Access advanced features within the App
• Legal Status of Diamonds: Diamonds are a license to access digital features, not a currency or property. They:
  • Have no real-world monetary value
  • Cannot be transferred between accounts
  • Cannot be exchanged for cash or other consideration
  • Cannot be inherited or transferred upon death
  • May be revoked for violations of our Terms of Service
  • Expire if account remains inactive for 12 consecutive months
• Refunds & Cancellation:
  • NO REFUNDS POLICY: Diamonds are STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE consumable virtual items. By purchasing diamonds, you acknowledge and agree that all sales are FINAL.
  • While Google Play may have its own refund process (Google Play Refund Policy), obtaining a refund through Google Play after diamonds have been credited to your account is a VIOLATION of our Terms of Service.
  • PERMANENT BAN FOR REFUNDS: ANY account that receives a refund through Google Play (whether initiated by you or automatically processed) will be PERMANENTLY BANNED from using LawBee. This is NON-NEGOTIABLE.
  • The device(s) associated with the banned account will also be PERMANENTLY BLOCKED from accessing LawBee or creating new accounts.
  • There is NO APPEALS PROCESS for bans resulting from refunds.
  • If you have used even one diamond before requesting a refund, your account will be immediately terminated.
  • Under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, virtual currency purchases are considered "digital content" and are legally non-refundable once the content has been delivered to your account.

7. Data Retention & Security

• Data Retention Periods:
  • Account information: Until account deletion or 5 years after last activity
  • Transaction records: 7 years (as required by tax laws)
  • Usage logs (IP addresses, device logs): 3 years (as required by IT Act)
  • AI query history: 90 days
  • User-generated content: Until deletion by user or account termination
• Security Measures:
  • 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission
  • AES-256 encryption for stored sensitive data
  • Regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
  • Two-factor authentication for access to sensitive features
  • Role-based access controls for internal systems
  • 24/7 automated threat monitoring
• Breach Notification: In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will:
  • Notify CERT-In and affected users within 6 hours of discovery
  • Provide details of the breach, potential impact, and remedial measures
  • Cooperate fully with authorities in any investigation

8. Third-Party Services & Data Processing

We engage certain third-party services to provide specific functionalities:

• Google Play: For payment processing and ad rewards
• OpenAI: Primary AI provider for legal drafting features
• DeepSeek: Secondary AI provider (fallback) for legal drafting
• Cloud Infrastructure: For hosting and data storage

Data Sharing: We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your Personal Data to third parties except:

• To third-party processors for specific services as listed above
• When required by law, court order, or governmental regulation
• To protect our rights, property, or safety
• With your explicit consent for a specific purpose

Cross-Border Transfers: Some data may be processed or stored outside India. We ensure such transfers comply with Indian laws and that processors implement adequate safeguards as prescribed under the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

9. Copyright & Intellectual Property

Content Sources and Rights:

• Public Domain Legal Content: All Bare Acts, judgments, and legal documents are sourced from official government websites (e.g., indiacode.nic.in, legislative.gov.in, supreme court). These materials are in the public domain and are provided as a service.
• Digitally Signed Judgments: Court judgments in our database maintain their original digital signatures applied by the courts themselves. We do not modify these signatures and provide them as-is to maintain their legal authenticity.
• User-Generated PDFs: PDFs generated through our app using tools like PDFMake are not digitally signed. For security and accountability, these documents are automatically watermarked with the generating user's email address. This watermark helps prevent unauthorized distribution and allows for content tracing if necessary.
• Proprietary Templates: Our premade draft templates are proprietary and protected by copyright law. They may not be reproduced, distributed, or used outside the App without express permission.
• AI-Generated Content: Content generated by our AI features is provided for your personal use only. You may not redistribute such content commercially without permission.

Copyright Takedown Process: If your copyrighted material appears on LawBee without authorization, send a written notice including:

• Identification of the copyrighted work.
• URL or description where it appears.
• Statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury.
• Signed authorization by the rights holder.
• Contact details including a valid email address.

10. AI Integration & Legal Disclaimer

LawBee integrates specialized legal AI features powered by:

• OpenAI (Primary): Custom-trained for Indian legal system
• DeepSeek (Secondary): Fallback system for continuity

Data Processing: When you use our AI features:

• Your queries and inputs are transmitted to these AI providers for processing
• We implement additional safeguards to minimize personal data exposure
• AI providers may store and use inputs under their respective policies:

• DeepSeek Privacy Policy
• You can request deletion of your AI interaction history through our Grievance Officer

Legal Disclaimer: All AI-generated content, draft templates, and legal information provided through the App:

• Is for informational purposes only
• Does not constitute legal advice
• Is not a substitute for professional legal counsel
• Should be reviewed by a qualified attorney before use in any legal proceeding
• May not be accurate, complete, or up-to-date despite our best efforts

By using our AI features, you acknowledge these limitations and agree to use the generated content at your own risk.

12. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Policy in the App. We will notify you of material changes through:

• In-app notification
• Email to your registered address
• Notice on our website

The "Effective Date" at the top will be revised with each update. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy. It is your responsibility to review this Policy periodically.

13. Language & Accessibility

LawBee is available in multiple Indian languages. While we strive for accurate translations of legal content:

• The English version of all policies and legal documents is the official and binding version.
• Translations are provided for convenience only and may contain inaccuracies.
• In case of discrepancy between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail.
• We make reasonable efforts to ensure accessibility for users with disabilities.

14. User Responsibilities

When using LawBee, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during registration.
• Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• Use AI-generated drafts and templates responsibly and at your own risk.
• Not share or redistribute content obtained through the App commercially.
• Verify all legal documents with qualified legal professionals before official use.
• Not attempt to manipulate or exploit the diamond reward system.
• Indemnify and hold harmless LawBee from any claims arising from your use of the App.
